  • Around Tarn Hows

A pleasant walk on a sunny day (bit exposed on the top) with Jenny, David and Penny and the dogs. From the busy tarn with family activities in full swing as it was a holiday weekend the walk passed through forestry before we cllmbed up on to the fell and took lunch on the summit of Black Crag,

A gradual descent down to Low Arnside and then a return walk beside the road and Yew Tree Tarn before returning up the hill to the car park at Tarn Howes. A very pleasant gentle walk.

  • A walk in the Beacons

This walk of just over 7 miles was done with DeeJay and Penny and the two dogs on an absolutely splendid sunny and warm Sunday; just right for walking. I was glad to have taken a hat and a fleece however because it got quite chilly on the tops.

A slideshow of the photos from the walk can be found here, and the places they were taken might be shown on the map below (something which happens automatically if you use the GPS-enabled Lumix camera … which I do when I’m walking).

A walk in the Beacons at EveryTrail might be where this trail is stored. All my GPS-enabled walks were stored on Everytrail.

An inter-active version of the walk might be available here.

You might be able to also download the trip to look at in Google Earth here.
